Autumn
Back in the 80’s we started out with four basic color palettes; winter, spring, summer and fall. This worked well initially but as you think about it putting everyone in only four boxes was not realistic. All of us have parents who have parents and so on, each contributing to our genetic pool which encompasses our color palette. Hence there are now twelve palettes giving more of a “custom” season. You can be a spring flowing to autumn (warm) or a summer flowing to winter (cool) etc. Your color palette is determined by draping a series of colored fabrics against your face to see the best match for your hair, skin and eyes. You use your color palette not only for your wardrobe but also your makeup, accessories, workspace, furnishings, car, etc. When you wear your colors you’re more confident, people notice and compliment you, you have a sense of harmony and others are drawn to you.
I’m always intrigued by the link between color and personality. It’s not by accident that you are who you are…it’s in your DNA. Along with your human personality you also have a “fashion” personality that is addressed during a consultation because it is in my opinion the “essence” of you. The categories are natural, classic, creative, dramatic and romantic and we are usually a combination of two. This element helps you understand why you choose particular garments and why you may appreciate certain style choices on others but say to yourself “I could never wear that.” Embrace and have fun with your fashion personality. Don’t try to copy someone else’s style. When you wear something that is not true to you, it is reflected in your body language and you are short changing yourself. You’re who you are for a reason and you’re wonderful and unique!
Just for the record I’m a warm creative dramatic. As you can see the gold and brown in my coat work well with my coloring which is an autumn flowing to spring or warm. Predominately the autumn tones of green, brown and gold work well for me and they feel very natural and comfortable. A slight flow to spring allows me to wear some corals and more greens.
As you can see in the photos I’m staying true to my fashion personality. The strands of pearls and print coat make a statement which addresses the dramatic side and the hat actually works for both the creative and dramatic. Being creative I’m drawn to things that are different and a little unusual and I have a lot of fun expressing my fashion personality.
